Caprica has had quite the problematic airing and release schedule and it's no surprise to find it finishing out where it began. SyFy introduced fans to Caprica with the direct to video (and more explicit) movie which aired as the first/pilot episode for the broadcast run as well. After showing the first half of the season at the start of 2010, with plans for it to come back at the start of 2011...

After watching just the trailer for Skyline (the poster in the background of my header image) I got the impression that we weren’t really going to see some toys for this film. There wasn’t a lot hype or merchandising behind this alien invasion epic. There doesn’t have to be, the merchandising that is, but as toy collectors we here at Mania love our alien action figures...

Like a lot of Tony Scott films, Unstoppable works far better than it should. It applies standard Hollywood bombast to an ostensibly true story, starting with a plausible disaster scenario and then drowning it beneath a glut of preposterous dramatic contrivances. Everything goes to 11 here...
